Excitation of Microwave Vortices by Ferrite Disks: the Near-Field and Far-Field Application Problems

چکیده
A small FMR ferrite disk strongly perturbs the cavity field. Graphical representation of the Poynting vector shows that due to the vortex structure the absorption cross-section of a ferrite particle can be much bigger than its geometrical cross-section. Spectral properties of magnetic oscillations in a ferrite disk show unique vortex structures for MS-wave functions.

Coupled states of electromagnetic fields with magnetic-dipolar-mode vortices: Magnetic-dipolar-mode vortex polaritons
A coupled state of an electromagnetic field with an electric or magnetic dipole-carrying excitation is well known as a polariton. Such a state is the result of the mixing of a photon with the excitation of a material. The most discussed types of polaritons are phonon polaritons, exciton polaritons, and surface-plasmon polaritons. Recently, it was shown that, in microwaves, strong magnon-photon ...

Electromagnetic vortices in a microwave cavity with an inserted piece of a magnetized ferrite appear due to the time-reversal symmetry breaking effect. We reveal numerically that the Poynting-vector vortices are possible in open resonant microwave structures with ferrite inclusions. We demonstrate a pair of resonances which have opposite vortex rotations at the same direction of time given by t...

We show that in a source-free subwavelength region of microwave fields, there can exist field structures with a local coupling between the time-varying electric and magnetic fields differing from the electric-magnetic coupling in regular-propagating free-space electromagnetic waves. To distinguish such field structures from regular electromagnetic (EM) field structures, we term them as magnetoe...
متن کاملThe field symmetry breaking effects in microwave-vortex structures originated by ferrite disks in a cavity
For a microwave resonator with an enclosed ferrite disk, one has the electromagnetic resonant fields which are not the fields of standing waves. This leads to very specific topological-phase characteristics. In such a nonintegrable system with time-reversal symmetry breaking, one obtains the Poynting-vector microwave vortices and intensive field localization in a region of a disk. The purpose o...

There has been a surge of interest in the subwavelength confinement of electromagnetic fields. It is well known that, in optics, subwavelength confinement can be obtained from surface plasmon (quasielectrostatic) oscillations. In this article, we propose to realize subwavelength confinement in microwaves by using dipolarmode (quasimagnetostatic) magnon oscillations in ferrite particles. Our stu...
